Carpet Cleaning FAQs
Q. How long does it take carpets to dry after being professionally cleaned?
A. Drying usually takes 6–8 hours depending on the density of the carpeting and the extent of soiling. Specialized pet treatments typically require 12–24 hours to dry completely.
Q. Is professional carpet cleaning safe for children and pets?
A. Our nontoxic formula contains no bleach, perfume, harsh solvents, or volatile organic compounds. It cannot leave behind soap or detergent residues, either, making it the safest carpet cleaning solution for homes with sensitive children and animal friends!
Q. What happens during a carpet cleaning appointment?
A. Upon our arrival we will ask you to show us which areas need cleaning and the locations of any “problem spots.” Once we have agreed to the areas which will receive cleaning, we’ll set straight to work rejuvenating your carpeting. We move most pieces of furniture out of the way (or shield them with protective styrofoam or plastic) prior to cleaning and replace them afterward.
Q. Is professional carpet cleaning worth the money?
A. In most cases, “yes.” To keep your carpets clean and looking good it’s in your best interest to use professional cleaners simply because their experience will enable them to do a better job. In addition, the equipment they use has more extraction power and other features than the equipment available for rent. Not all carpeting is the same; an experienced carpet cleaning professional understands the different carpet fibers and construction and the best cleaning agents and methods to use.
Q. How much does it cost to clean 2 rooms of carpet?
A. The cost varies but a rough estimate would be $50 to $150 for two rooms. Many carpet cleaners charge based on the square footage rather than number of rooms. After all, not all rooms are the same size. An estimate for three areas of carpet with a maximum of 200 sq. ft. would cost approximately $125 to $150.
Q. What time of year is best for carpet cleaning?
A. The short answer: When your carpet needs cleaning. The longer answer is we can do professional carpet cleaning any time of year.
Q. Does professional carpet cleaning work better than doing it yourself?
A. Unless you have the experience and proper equipment, a professional will deliver a cleaner carpet. If you don’t know what you are doing, or are renting inferior equipment, or using the wrong chemicals, you can damage your carpet.
Q. Which is better wet or dry carpet cleaning?
A. Both options should be adequate, depending on how dirty your carpet is and how quickly you want the job done. In general, steam cleaning provides a deeper cleaning that will loosen embedded soil and remove oil and grease deposits. Our industry-leading cleaning method will not soak your carpeting. That significantly cuts down on drying time, so you’ll be able to return to your normal routine soon after our team has left your home or place of business.
